The voyage

Mahad looked out to the sea to see the ship approaching.
"At last we can get back to Neo Domino." He remarked relieved. The atmosphere had always kept him uneasy about this place.

(Forgive me. I am extremely rusty. I may not remember their own abilities.)

Alex and Jessica had just walked up to the side of the boat, looking at the city along with Aino and the Temple Dancer of the Ice Barrier.

(Need to come up with names for the Ice Barrier monsters...)

"They may have defeated Alexis and Aster, but they won't get past my next Duel Ghost." Sapphire commented.

Mahad smiled for a moment as Neo Domino City came into view. But all to soon the view was obstructed by a yellow aurora that surrounded the ship.
"This! It's like when that copy of your mother was!" Mahad declared as the ship's engined died. A man in a long white cloak stood on the Deck, seemingly having appeared from nowhere. The Virtual Seto Kaiba smirked ambitiously.

"Another one of these things?! Whoever is sending these things is getting extremely annoying, and pointless." Jessica said, baffling Alex in the process.

"We faced on of these things after I escaped. They have the essence of the person they appear to be, but their minds are not as their soul." Mahad explained.

"Enough small talk!" Virtual Kaiba demanded deploying his battle city duel disk.
"If any of you have a duelist's courage, face me now!"

"Still they're annoying and pointless." Jessica said, as Alex glared at the virtual Kaiba with his cold blue eyes. "You want a fight, you got a fight!" He declared.

Kaiba drew his opening hand looking at the last card he drew for a moment.
"I activate Future Fusion, sending three Blue-Eyes White Dragons from my Deck to my Graveyard. I'll set a card and summon X-Head Cannon (1800 ATK)." The mechanical artillery appeared awaiting the next turn.


"It's possible that they are trying to were us down. Although if this duelist is Kaiba, he is a legendary opponent." Mahad warned. He couldn't help but feel a bit excited about the duel, even knowing the danger.

"I'll one-up ya here! I use Future Synchro! It works like Future Fusion, but only for Synchro monsters! I'm sending my Samurai of the Ice Barrier, in honor of my father, Elemental Hero Ice Edge, and my Cryomancer of the Ice Barrier to the graveyard. And you won't like the monster that'll arrive. Then, I'll use my Magic Triangle of the Ice Barrier!" Alex declared, as a magic triangle appeared around him with three Ice Barrier monsters at each point. The were the Shock Troops, Dewdark and General Gantala. "Now I get to select one card you control and destroy it. You might think I'd pick Future Fusion, but you're in for a surprise! I choose your face-down card!" Alex declared, as the card froze up and shattered. "Now I select one of my monsters as a Special Summon to take the field. And I pick General Gantala!" Alex declared, as the Shock Troops and Dewdark disappeared, leaving the general to take his place on the field. (2700 ATK) And since that was a Special Summon, I can summon my Shock Troops to the field!" He continued, as the Shock Troops reappeared on the field. (1500 ATK) "Boys, have fun!" Alex told them, as they went to town on the cannon and the virtual Kaiba, dealing 2400 damage. "This may surprise everyone, but I want that Ultimate Dragon to show up! And now that it's my End Phase, General Gantala's effect kicks in. I can now Special Summon one Ice Barrier monster from my graveyard to the field, so welcome back my Samurai!" Alex declared, as the samurai took his place after arriving in an icicle coming from the ground. (1800 ATK)

"So your not a total deadbeat." Kaiba complimented, or at least for Kaiba it was a compliment.

"I'll set a monster in Defense Position, and a face-down." Kaiba said as the two mystery cards appeared before him.
"Turn End!" he declared loudly.

Alex Yuki: 8000
Seto Kaiba: 5300

"Alright then." Alex said, as he drew, and an icy sparkle came from his eye. "I'll use my Spell card, Quick Freeze! Now until my next turn, neither of us can set spell/trap cards, nor activate set cards!" Alex said, as the face down spell/trap of Kaiba froze solid as Future Fusion and Future Synchro were left unfrozen, as well as the empty zones froze solid to prevent new cards from being played. "Now I'll tribute my Samurai to bring in my Royal Knight!" Alex declared, as the samurai disappeared, and a knight wielding an icy lance and wearing icy armor appeared in its place. (2000/2000) "And when my Knight is tribute summoned successfully, I special summon 1 Ice Coffin Token to your side of the field!" He said, as another version of the Royal Knight appeared on Kaiba's side in ATK mode. (1000/0) "Shock Troops, take out the Ice Coffin Token, Gantara, take out his face-down monster, and my icy knight, spear him directly!" Alex ordered, as the three Ice Barrier warriors did just that.

Seto's life points dropped to 4800 as the Ice Token was destroyed, but as the general charged the defending monster was revealed to be a golden lamp.
"Ancient Lamp's (1400 DEF) Flip Effect allows me to throw your own attack at another one of your monsters, like your Royal Knight of the Ice Barrier." Kaiba stated coldly. The ice thrown by the general was reflected destroying the knight thus inflicting 700 damage to Alex.

"Eh, no biggie. But I'm bringing him back with Gantara's effect!" Alex said, smirking as the knight reappeared, just as fast as he disappeared. ~He's in for a long frozen nightmare now! He can't stop my dragon from arriving, and I'm going to crush his dragon the second she appears!~ Alex thought, knowing that his trump card will be there, as it was protected by ice.

"Then my move." Kaiba drew.
"It's time." Kaiba said smiling darkly.
"Appear before me! Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon (4500 ATK)." The hydra dragon appeared roaring from all three of it's mouths.

"Using Ancient Lamp's effect, I special summon La Jinn the Mystical Genie of the Lamp (1800 ATK)." green smoke escaped the lamp taking the form of a genie.

"Ultimate Dragon! Blow away his general!" Kaiba ordered confidently as the dragon launched lightning balls from it's heads at Gantara.

"Now my genie, take out his Shock Troops!" La Jinn nodded and launched a magic bolt at the troopers.

Alex busted up laughing as he saw Shock Troops get destroyed and not the Royal Knight. "That is so not like Seto Kaiba! He would NEVER make a lame mistake like that!!!" He declared, as Seto ended his turn and Alex drew, as his hair went ice blue. "Remember my Future Synchro?" Alex asked, as the ice started to melt.

"Yes, and I already have the perfect counter for it. I sacrifice my Ancient Lamp! Trap card open! Crush Card Virus!" The lamp imploded in on itself releasing a deadly containment that drifted to Alex's side of the field.

"This virus will infect every monster on your side of the field with 1500 or more ATK. If your that trump card of a syncro you've been waiting falls into that category your out of luck. But it gets better. It will spread to your hand, and even the cards you draw for the next three turns. Though break." Kaiba mocked.

Seto Kaiba: 4800

"Ah, but the effect happens the second it's synchro summoned! Here's Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier! When she's synchro summoned, I select three cards. One from your field, one from your hand, and one from your graveyard, and remove them from play! And I select a Blue-Eyes, one of your cards in your hand, and the crusher, YOUR BLUE-EYES ULTIMATE DRAGON!" Alex explained, as the three headed dragon appeared, blasting the three cards and forcing them to disappear, before becoming infected herself along with the Royal Knight and dying. "And you're out of luck, as I don't have any monsters over 1400 ATK in my hand! For example I remove Royal Knight and Samurai from my graveyard to bring in Fenrir!" He continued, as the two Ice monsters disappeared and a wolf-like monster appeared, howling as it appeared. (1400/1200) "Now I'll use Salvage to retrieve two WATER monsters from my graveyard to my hand! And the virus can't affect them! I choose Trishula and Gantara! Trishula returns to my Extra Deck and Gantara returns to my hand!" Alex continued, as a fishing boat appeared, and fished out the two cards before disappearing. "Now I'll use Umiiruka to boost Fenrir's ATK by 500, while decreasing it's DEF by 400!" Alex said, as the boat disappeared, and what appeared like an ocean appeared at their feet, as Fenrir howled, becoming stronger thanks to the water. (1900/800) "And now I'll summon my Mother Grizzly, who survived your virus, as she only had 1400 ATK! And she gets the bonus too!" Alex continued, as a bear appeared, growling at Kaiba. "And now the fun part for me. Since you have no way to defend yourself, Fenrir, attack La Jinn!" Alex declared, as the wolf slashed the genie to pieces as the grizzly came charging at Kaiba. "Mother Grizzly, you jumped the gun before my order, but you knew it already! Attack Kaiba directly!" Alex scolded the bear, but still smiled. "Now I'll play my last card face down and end my turn, and before you get too comfortable, Fenrir's effect kicks in! When he destroys an opponent's monster in battle, you skip your next Draw Phase!" He said, as Fenrir howled, temporarily locking Kaiba's deck, preventing him from drawing a card until the Standby Phase.

The simulation of the former world champion even showed some awe at the play. His Life Points were now only 2800.
"To draw those cards at that time..." Kaiba said regaining his cool.
"But luck only goes so far. I set a monster, then play Card of Sanctity. We both draw so we have six cards in our hand, but should you draw any monsters with 1500 or more ATK they'll be instantly destroyed by my Crush Card Virus." Kaiba explained smugly.

"Then I'll play Burial from the Different Dimension, it'll return the cards you just removed, including my Blue-Eyes White Dragon, it's Ultimate form, and the Paladin of White Dragon from my hand, and put them all in my Graveyard. Then with Junk Dealer, I can revive my Ultimate Dragon with half it's ATK." Kaiba explained as Blue-Eyes returned roaring weakly with 2250 ATK.

"But I'd never disgrace my Blue-Eyes by leaving it in such a pitiful state, so now I sacrifice it's current form to reveal it's truest form." Ultimate Dragon shed it's hydra form to become a metallic dragon with several glowing orbs.
"Meet her final form, the Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon (3000 ATK). Shining Dragon gains 300 ATK for every Dragon-Type monster in my Graveyard. And in case you've lost count, that's five. This fives her 1500 more ATK." Kaiba gloated as the dragon's ATK rose to 4500 to match her previous forms ATK.

"Now my Blue-Eyes! Attack Fenrir! Show no mercy!" The metal dragon powered up an energy blast and fired it at the white wolf.

Alex smirked at this. "You lose. Activate Magic Cylinder!" He declared as one of Yugi's signature traps appeared, and blasted Kaiba with the Shining Dragon's own attack.

"Clever move, but I chain Ring of Defense from my hand." Kaiba declared hastily as a ring deployed four shields to block Shining Dragon's redirected attack.
"Ring of Defense makes the damage I take from a Trap Card zero.

"You've escaped by Blue-Eyes attacks for now. So I'll end with a single face-down card. Turn end." Kaiba concluded.

(I need Kaiba to make one more move for the story-line to work. You can kill Shining Dragon to make the climax, but keep in mind Virtual Kaiba only has 2800 Life Points left. If all works our characters will meet the other characters in the "Sworn Knight, Bleeding Rose, Crying Dragonkin" storyline.)

Even though Alex's hand was cut to three, he wasn't concerned about the duel, he was concerned about one particular monster, as he drew. ~I don't have much of a choice.~ He thought as he played a monster. "I'm summoning my Deep Sea Diva in ATK mode." He said, as the Level 2 Tuner appeared on the field, singing beautifully. (200/400) "When she's summoned, I get to Special Summon one Level 3 or below Sea Serpent monster from my deck, and I choose Spined Gillman." Alex continued, as another fishy monster appeared, wielding a trident. (1300/0) "His effect boosts Fish, Sea Serpent and Aqua-type monsters ATK by 400. But that's not your concern, it's more mine. Deep Sea Diva, tune with Fenrir!" Alex ordered as the lady tuned with the wolf, as a very loud roar came from the distance as a monsterous dragon appeared and swam to the field, glaring at Alex. "Now listen to me Brionac, I need you to help me out here." Alex said, as Brionac snorted. (2700/1400) "I am discarding two of my cards to activate Brionac's effect at my own risk. Since I discarded two cards, I get to return two cards from your field back to your hand, and that will be your dragon and your face-down!" Alex declared, as Brionac blew the two cards back to the hand. "Spined Gillman, attack Kaiba directly." Alex ordered, as the sea serpent stabbed Kaiba with its trident. (1100) "Now Brionac... uh, Brionac, are you listening?" Alex said, now very concenred, as Brionac went to sleep like Ash Ketchum's Charizard did on Pokemon, completely disobeying Alex. "Brionac, you lazy bum! Well, since that bum decided to ignore me, I can't attack him anymore! So I'll place my last two cards face down. So take your turn while I snap at Brionac." Alex said, not happy at all.

"You dare insult by Blue-Eyes!?" Kaiba declared in near rage as it was returned.

"I draw!" He announced. He smiled at seeing his new card.

"I play Card of Demise, it lets me draw five cards, though I discard my hand at the 5th Standby Phase after activation. Then I play Monster Reborn, return to me, Ancient Lamp (1400 DEF)." The golden lamp returned to the field.

"I then flip-summon my face-down monster, Battle Ox (1700 ATK)." The humanoid bull snorted as it raised it's axe.

"Then comes Silent Doom, I revive a Normal Monster in Defense Position, though it can't attack. I choose Blue-Eyes White Dragon (2500 DEF)." The Blue-Eyes returned shielding itself.

As Kaiba picked another card from his hand storm clouds gathered overhead.

"Now I sacrifice all three of these monsters. Come forth to bring down the hammer of judgment! Obelisk the Tormentor (4000 ATK)!" The the three monsters vanished the ship began to tilt forward as the giant vengeful god appeared on the deck.

"No Way! They can't summon that card!" Mahad objected. It just didn't seem possible.

Lightning rained down crashing into the yellow dome of the artificial duel. Obelisk growled in anger. The yellow dome flickered and shattered.

"What's wrong with-" Kaiba said as he looked at his hands fading. He and Obelisk vanished and the ship abruptly rocked back throwing most of the passengers off their feet. After a seconds delay the ships engines restarted leaving the only evidence of the duel to be the imprint Obelisk's feet left on the deck.

In the horizon Neo Domino City was already coming into view.

"System critical! We've lost it!" A technician cried as the loud whirling from the system faded. Smoke filled the room. The room went black for a moment before the emergency lights kicked in tenting the room red.

"What happened!?" Sapphire Peguses demanded.

"We suffered a critical surge of electricity. Strangely it seems to have come from inside the machine. It happened when the Duel Ghost summoned Obelisk" The technician explained.

"We've never had any trouble replicating cards from a duelist's memories. Does that card have some sort of special powers?" Sapphire pondered.
"Special powers...maybe that's the key!" Sapphire said to himself excited recalled a report on a duelist he had read earlier.

"Get this machine fixed. I'm going to do damage control." Sapphire ordered leaving the room.

(OOC: Okay. Going over to Sworn Knight, Bleeding Rose, Crying Dragonkin.)

Alex just looked on in confusion. "Uh, what is going on?" He asked Mahad and Jessica, seriously baffled by what happened. "And he should know I'm not insulting his Blue-Eyes. Brionac is a consistant problem that I must deal with. Apparently, Trishula only took the hold he had on me off. She didn't give me control of him." He added, not pleased with Brionac's antics as he snorted and disappeared.
